Image Sustainable Tubes strategy For its participation in this year’s LuxePack New York Albéa is focusing on three key pillars of its sustainable Tubes strategy: weight reduction, recyclability and integration of PCR (post-consumer recycled). On booth C14 the American team will introduce a wide selection of skin care and personal care packaging solutions, all made in North America, that meets brands’ and consumers’ quest for products with lower environmental impact. “Albéa has a strong commitment to help make packaging more sustainable by reusing and recycling but also by integrating a greater amount of recycled plastic in it. With our extensive range of responsible tubes, we support our clients to deliver on their own commitments to better packaging and climate change - ultimately making beauty more circular together”, explains Kristina Christensen, Vice President Sales North America. In New York, Albéa will be presenting an expanded range of PCR laminate tubes for cosmetic and personal care products, combining weight reduction and recycled plastic. Newcomer range “Timeless” features eco-designed tubes manufactured in the Shelbyville (TN) plant using less material and incorporating around 30% recycled material in total. The sleeve itself is made of 60% recycled plastic reducing the carbon footprint by 17% in comparison to other recycled tubes. Greenleaf, the patented all-plastic laminate tube for oral care, personal care and, OTC pharma brands is also in the spotlight: the tubes are recycling-ready with the HDPE bottles recycling streams and manufactured using less plastic and less energy. The Greenleaf technology provides a proven lower environmental impact than most other tube structures.
