At the “Trophées du Droit” ceremony held in Paris on November 17 th, Albéa’s Intellectual Property department was awarded the Gold Trophée for its pro-active strategy and tangible results on Albéa’s global development.
Albéa wins the Gold “Trophée du Droit” in the Intellectual Property/Patents category before Airbus, Orange and IFP Energies nouvelles. The “Trophées du Droit” honor the excellence of the most proficient law specialists. The selection is made by an outstanding jury comprising more than 160 qualified professionals and from among 1000 contenders.
With a portfolio of more than 1500 patents, Albéa has an integrated Intellectual Property (IP) department. Its primary role is to protect and defend the group’s patents and innovations, while working on freedom to operate issues and the contractual aspects of these IP assets.
The jury recognized “a pro-active strategy with tangible results”. Guillaume Mouraret, Albéa Group IP manager explains : “ With Patents, we have a very comprehensive and ambitious approach. The team has initiated Patents Committees allowing us to monitor closely all our innovation projects. We also intervene during professionals trade shows in order to enforce our intellectual property rights thanks to Anti-Counterfeiting offices. Finally we coordinate a constant patent, technical and market watch, giving us a 360° vision for each of our activities”
Albéa is very proud of this award, recognizing a very dynamic Patents strategy for the last seven years. The Group is ranked among the 50 companies that file the most patent applications in France, by INPI, the France’s Intellectual Property institute: in 2015, Albéa was ranked 25 with 52 published patent requests; and in 2014 Albéa was ranked 37 with 38 requests.
