Scope Assistant Controller is responsible for providing robust support to the financial needs of the Shelbyville site, reporting to the “Plant Controller”. This position is one of the KEY members of Financial Leadership team for the site. This role actively supports the “Plant Controller” in their duties and expected to have provide direct leadership & oversight related to Finance, Accounting, Costing, Reporting, systems, Controls, Audit, financial analytics etc., Assistant Controller with his wide manufacturing experience, works collaboratively within the “Plant Controller’s” team, Plant Leadership team as a “Business Partner”. Assistant Controller also required from time to time directly lead various Plant initiatives as a KEY Finance representation to accomplish the overall goals of the Plant. Assistant Controller will be responsible with “Plant Controller” to ensure complete, accurate, timely financial reporting both internal and external stakeholders. Assistant Controller also helps to drive a strong internal control environment along with Finance team to ensure productivity, continuous improvement and technological improvements using various applications. Main activities o Provide strong support to ensure proper and timely month end/ Quarter-end & year end activities o Actively participates to develop with Finance team the detailed forecasts and Budgets under Plant Controller’s supervision o Lead projects on financial analysis to achieve vast improvements o Monitor closely various control aspects and report periodically on various Plant improvements and drivers to Plant Controller and Site Leadership. o Meticulous & ROBUST analysis of cost accounting routines, inventory movements/valuation etc., and lead improvement initiatives. [Strong involvement in Costing areas, Bill of Materials, Work Order Variance Analysis, Volume, Mix analysis etc.,] o Able to identify costing, SAP routings and financial improvement areas and manage improvements projects on self-actualized manner. o KEY person to support Site to monitors inventory processes to identify off track transactions. o Tracks, analyze sales and margin trends by products, customers, by market segments and address pricing issues for Customer Service team. o Participates in the improvement of the existing cost accounting systems and implement appropriate variance analysis models to define clear management accountabilities. o Is responsible for capital management and participates in programs to reduce significantly the level of inventories. o Time to time help with Sales Invoicing related tasks, validations etc., o Lead Cycle Counting Control monitoring process, on behalf of Finance team o This role also requires coaching the team as needed on cost accounting, Control routines and other financial needs, as necessary. o Actively participates in SOX - ERM Compliance and co-lead the Plant team along with Plant Controller. o Identify, Analyze the relevant risks drivers, and assesses the quality of internal controls. o Implement all the necessary controls to mitigate the risk related to the financial processes. o Monitors performance and report status/variance to plan on regular basis. o Manage all SAP FICO, CO & Other SAP modules/processes incl. trouble shooting various issues on timely manner. o Actively involve, execute and manage monthly / Adhoc and other reporting requirements of the Plant Operations. o Assumes other special activities and responsibilities, as per Business needs. Accountability including KPIs o Manage the Finance department while Plant Controller is on vacation or tied up with other exceptional projects o Assures that a positive employee relations position is maintained. o Ensures that the company's management principles, policies, and programs are consistently practiced. o Approves effective personnel action initiated by Finance staff in collaboration to Plant Controller. o Assures effective communications are maintained within areas of responsibility. o Makes recommendations for improving the effectiveness of policy or practices o other special activities and responsibilities from time to time as directed. o Accountable to the Plant Controller for all phases of his or her activities. o Coordinates with: Other members of Finance team, Plant team and other stakeholders as needed. Profile (Experience & qualifications) o B.S. degree or equivalent in Accounting or Finance. o A minimum of eight (5) years' experience NEEDED. [ideally gained through increasingly responsible management positions within Finance, costing or accounting, FP&A]. o STRONG WORKING KNOWLEDGE in SAP environment with ability to identify & recommend improvements o ADVANCED EXCEL skills to manage large volume of data analytics using macros
