Scope • Responsible for defining and validating sampling plans and inspection protocols. • Reduce plan’s IBB and rework through systemic reduction and elimination of defects. • To lead effective/validated 5 Why and formal problem solving efforts to achieve IBB and rework reduction goals. • Support manufacturing “Rapid Intervention/Control/Elimination” error proofing and defect elimination techniques in support of IBB and rework reduction goals. • Track and trend key plant quality performance metrics to identify opportunities for systemic improvement via quality project initiation. • Assist Process Engineering to develop and document process control and standards implementation which can be instituted on the production floor. • Promote and execute quality standards, inspection processes, test methodology, quality plans, documents and reports. • Participate in internal and external quality audits. • Interface with supplier and customer quality representatives concerning problems with quality assurance and assure that effective corrective action is implemented. Main activities • Work closely with Operations and Process/Project teams by taking quality focused look at process control and root cause determination and systemic problem elimination. • Serve as the primary Quality Assurance resource to department supervisor(s) for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting and continuous improvement. • Support concurrent engineering efforts by participating in design development projects representing Quality Assurance and the customer. • Design and implement methods for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection Accountability including KPIs • Participate and lead teams for problem solutions and continuous improvement. • Participate in teams with EHS. • Participate in teams with new products development. • Participate in team validation and new processes. • Assure cleaning and order in stations and quality laboratories. • Active participation for activities regarding continuous improvement such as, CI projects. • This job post does not contain 100% of the functions and activities to be designated, additionally the quality manager can solicit the elaboration of reports, analysis and any other additional information that may be required. Profile (Experience & qualifications) • BS degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering • Work experience – 3 to 5 years in a plastics manufacturing environment • Knowledge of CI and Six Sigma programs a plus • Must be familiar with validation and design of experiments • Work with operations in process improvements • Project Management experience • Assist in Iso certifications • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills • Excellent problem-solving skills • Must be a logical thinker capable of making decisions which are accurate, and data driven
